Rocchio Lifts Vipers to 8-7 Win
The Texas Vipers topped the Bronx Bombers, 8-7, at Magnum Stadium. Texas shortstop Brayan Rocchio was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Evan Phillips earned the save for Texas, his 1st of the year. The Vipers now have a record of 16-32 with the win over Bronx.

Texas used the hitting of Jake Rogers to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Vipers on top, 8-7. For the game, Rogers had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Bronx manager Scott Gessford. "But we decided not to take it."
