Toronto shortstop Elly De La Cruz had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Montreal at Big Donut Stadium. De La Cruz went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Keider Montero earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Felix Bautista earned the save, his 9th, for the PoorBoys.

Had Gunnar Henderson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Henderson hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the PoorBoys.

"We ground out the win," said Henderson. "That's all that matters."
