Betts Hits 2 home runs in Stars Win
|
A good performance from shortstop Marcus Betts helped the Cincinnati Stars defeat the Boston Minutemen, 9-2. Betts hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Stars. Ben Brown got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 7.2 innings. Cincinnati now has a record of 28-23 with the win.
Early in the game, Betts had a 2-run double for Cincinnati. It was his 18th double of the season and put the Stars on top, 2-0.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Tony Byrne.
