Snakeyes, Valera Pin Bad Loss on Bombers
The San Diego Snakeyes topped the Bronx Bombers, 10-1, with designated hitter George Valera playing a big role. Valera hit 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2 for the Snakeyes in the win. Drew Anderson picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 4-0. The triumph puts San Diego at 28-25 for the season.

The Snakeyes got a big hit from second baseman Ramon Urias. Facing Bronx pitcher Marc Church in the top of the eighth, Urias pounded a grand slam home run to center. His 8th home run of the season put the Snakeyes ahead, 9-1.

Bronx manager Scott Gessford called the blowout loss "a real stinker."
