Minnesota Wins, Trumping Boston, 8-6
|
The Minnesota Millers powered past the Boston Minutemen, 8-6, at Target Field. Spencer Horwitz provided some of the pop. He was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times. Jacob Misiorowski, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The win gives Minnesota a season record of 31-22.
Had Nolan Arenado not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Arenado hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Millers.
"We got the victory," said Arenado. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
