Detroit Shut Out by Ragans
The Detroit Demons were almost helpless in their 3-0 loss to the Anaheim Diamonds and hurler Cole Ragans. Ragans kept the Demons confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Ragans," Detroit manager Marc Buffington said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 28-year-old left-hander had no walks and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Ragans said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

In 11 starts this year, Ragans has crafted a 5-4 record and a 3.42 ERA.
