Tatis Jr. Powers Firebirds Offense
A 4-RBI performance from the 2023 CBA Most Valuable Player winner Fernando Tatis Jr. helped the Phoenix Firebirds beat the Chicago Explorers, 12-5. Phoenix starter Ryan Pepiot was credited with the win after throwing 92 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Phoenix has now won 3 in a row.

With Phoenix leading 8-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Tatis Jr. came up to bat against Chicago pitcher Kyle Muller. Tatis Jr. hit a changeup to left for a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Firebirds on top, 11-2.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Tatis Jr. told the Phoenix News.
