PoorBoys Earn Clutch Win, 7-6
|
The Montreal PoorBoys overcame a big game from Washington designated hitter Spencer Torkelson to pick up a win at RFK Stadium. The final score was 7-6, Montreal, in 10 innings. Torkelson was 2-2 with a double and 4 walks. He scored 2 runs. Montreal is now 21-34, while Washington is 24-31.
Christian Walker came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The first baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I know we have our doubters," said Washington manager John Anderson. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
