Bombers Win at Pittsburgh, 7-1
|
George Kirby, who is tied for 8th in the UL in strikeouts with 75, had a strong outing for the Bronx Bombers against the Pittsburgh Ironmen at PNC Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-1 win. Marc Church closed it out for Bronx, earning his 2nd save. The win elevated the Bombers to 31-26.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Josh Bell? The Bronx first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Bombers on top, 2-0. For the game, Bell had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Bell. "You've got to get results."
