Slide Continues for Explorers
|
The performance of Daulton Varsho proved critical in helping Seattle beat Chicago, 8-4. The Sting center fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Eury Perez got the win, improving to 6-3. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Tristan Beck finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Johnathan Rodriguez chipped in a run-scoring ground out for Seattle in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Rodriguez.
The Explorers, at 22-35, have lost 6 in a row.
