Stowers, Riptides Clobber Bears, 11-0

With left fielder Kyle Stowers leading the charge, the Carolina Riptides defeated the Denver Bears, 11-0, at Coors Field. Stowers, who is tied for 10th in the UL in bases on balls with 23, went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Dylan Cease, the winner, is now 3-4. He struck out 9 and walked 1 over 7 innings, while allowing no runs on 4 hits. Carolina is now 31-26, Denver 27-30.
Carolina used the hitting of Wilyer Abreu to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Riptides on top, 5-0. For the game, Abreu had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Denver manager Aaron Hill called the blowout loss "just something that happens from time to time."
