The Los Angeles Spirit besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Tampa Bay catcher Adley Rutschman by beating the Bandits, 4-2, at Tony Gwynn Memorial Field. Rutschman was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Ian Anderson notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 4-1. Ronny Henriquez closed it out for Los Angeles, earning his 18th save.

The Spirit got a big at-bat from designated hitter Andres Chaparro. For the game, Chaparro went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead.
