Farmer goes 3-for-5 to Power Explorers Offense
|
The Chicago Explorers knocked off the San Francisco Dragons, 8-2, at Pac Bell Park. Kyle Farmer was a big reason Chicago won. The first baseman went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Chicago is now 23-35. San Francisco is 35-23.
With Chicago leading 5-1 in the top of the ninth, Farmer came up to bat against San Francisco pitcher Brandon Walter. Farmer hit a changeup to center for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Explorers on top, 8-1.
Said losing manager Joe Turnage: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
