The Washington Hitmen beat the Pittsburgh Ironmen, 7-2. Washington pitcher and The United States, native Joe Boyle led the way. Washington reliever Hans Crouse picked up the win to move to 1-1. Cole Sulser suffered the loss. Pittsburgh has now lost 4 straight.

Washington right fielder Tyler O'Neill contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two down, he hit a slider to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 47th hit of the season and put the Hitmen ahead, 4-2.

O'Neill said his team "played with determination."
