Riley Hits 2 home runs in Bandits Win
|
The Baltimore Wildcats and Tampa Bay Bandits provided some drama for the home crowd.
Getting offensive support from Austin Riley, the Tampa Bay Bandits topped the Baltimore Wildcats, 7-6. Riley went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Bandits. The win went to Matt Strahm in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Camilo Doval took the loss. Ryan Helsley, credited with the save, is now 12 for 12 in save opportunities.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Brendan Donovan? The Tampa Bay second baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bandits on top, 7-6. For the game, Donovan had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Tampa Bay manager George Hoffman.
The win puts Tampa Bay at 37-23 this season.
