Hitmen Fall Short, 3-2, at Pittsburgh
|
Pittsburgh beat Washington at PNC Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Adolis Garcia. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Cole Sulser notched his 1st save in 1 chances. Pittsburgh is 30-30 and Washington, with the loss, 27-33.
Garcia had a timely hit for Pittsburgh in the bottom of the seventh. With Pittsburgh trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch slider into a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Pittsburgh.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Garcia said after the game.
