Diamonds Rally to Win, 5-4
|
The Diamonds earned a hard-fought, 5-4 win in 11 innings at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Justin Steele. Steele went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Anaheim reliever Bryan Abreu snagged the win, upping his record to 3-5. DJ Herz shouldered the loss. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Diamonds.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Anaheim designated hitter Cal Raleigh, facing DJ Herz, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Diamonds the 5-4 win.
"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Raleigh said.
