Houston Sent Home with 4-1 Loss
|
St Louis and Houston duked it out and the Sluggers came out victorious.
Freddy Peralta was superb against Houston. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the FL with a 0.99 WHIP, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Sluggers victory. The score was 4-1. The win gives St Louis a season record of 31-30.
The Sluggers got a big at-bat from left fielder Austin Hays. For the game, Hays went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave St Louis a 4-1 lead.
"Freddy was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said St Louis manager John Hawkins.
