8 Straight Wins for Diamonds
|
The Anaheim Diamonds picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, knocking off the Minnesota Millers, 5-3. Starting pitcher Tyler Mahle was a big reason why. Mahle, now 2-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. The third-place Diamonds have won 8 in a row.
Danny Jansen had a big 3-run home run for the Diamonds in the bottom of the second inning. With Anaheim leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Reynaldo Lopez and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Diamonds on top, 4-0.
"The vibe's good," said Anaheim manager Michael Kirk. "We've got to keep it going."
