Hitmen Earn Late Win
The Washington Hitmen defeated the Portland Jaguars, 7-6, at Chrysler Canyon. Washington designated hitter Spencer Torkelson had a superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Washington reliever Hans Crouse picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Hagen Danner was tagged with the loss. Adrian Morejon notched his 13th save in 15 chances.

Jake Meyers contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run single. His at-bat helped Washington get the win.

In postgame comments to the Washington Bulletin, Meyers said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

After today's action, Washington sits at 29-34; Portland slips to 28-35.
