Boston Beaten, 4-2, by Texas
|
Texas beat Boston on the strength of starting pitcher Reese Olson's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. The Vipers improved their record to 44-54 with the win over Boston.
Texas needed the clutch hitting of Bryce Harper to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Vipers on top, 4-2. For the game, Harper had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Harper told a Texas Chronicle reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
