Roses Win, 3-2, at Chicago
|
The rain did not keep Oakland and Chicago from finishing their game.
Oakland turned a good effort from starter Luis Severino into a win over the Chicago Explorers at Baron's Ballyard. The final score was 3-2. The first-place Roses, at 75-43, now lead their division by 3½ games.
Oakland won the game in part because of Wyatt Langford. The center fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Roses ahead, 3-0. For the game, Langford had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Oakland manager Herb Pilgrim.
