Both teams had their chances, but the Cincinnati Stars eventually prevailed.
Cincinnati pitcher Mike Burrows did his part in helping his team beat the Georgia Bulldogs, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Tyler Ferguson notched his 19th save in 21 chances.
Manuel Margot, who finished 2nd in the FL in triples with 11 in 2022, helped out the Cincinnati cause in the bottom of the second inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Margot told the Cincinnati Times.
The Stars lead the Union League Central Division by 2½ games.
