Snakeyes Top Dragons to Even Record
The San Diego Snakeyes beat the San Francisco Dragons, 8-5, at Pac Bell Park. The Snakeyes got a fine performance from third baseman Angel Martinez, who hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was Drew Anderson. He tossed 103 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. Yennier Cano collected his 1st save.

San Diego used a clutch at-bat from Vinnie Pasquantino to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Snakeyes ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"You can never predict what'll happen," Martinez said. "That's why you play the game."
