Minutemen Win Close Shave, 5-4
|
The Boston Minutemen found a way to sneak past the Detroit Demons, 5-4, in 13 innings. Boston pitcher Michael King, for one, had a standout performance. Ben Joyce came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. With this game in the books, Boston is 15-23, Detroit 18-20.
Jonah Heim came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Michael can bring it," said Boston manager Tony Byrne.
