Demons Pin 5-3 Loss on Boston
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
Behind the hitting of Giancarlo Stanton, the Detroit Demons stopped the Boston Minutemen, 5-3. Stanton was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Demons. J.P. Feyereisen earned save number 1 this season.
Austin Wells had a big 3-run home run for the Demons in the bottom of the second inning. With Detroit leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Hunter Brown and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Demons on top, 5-0.
Detroit manager Marc Buffington called it "a pretty good win."
By defeating Boston, the second-place Demons improved to 19-20.
