Snakeyes Stumble, Losing to Bandits, 6-0
|
The Tampa Bay Bandits knocked off the San Diego Snakeyes, 6-0, in Federal League action at Tony Gwynn Memorial Field. Tampa Bay pitcher and Cape Coral, Florida, native Shane McClanahan had an outstanding performance. Tampa Bay goes to 24-16, San Diego to 20-20.
Jakob Marsee had a big 3-run home run for the Bandits in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Tampa Bay leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Adam Macko and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Bandits on top, 6-0.
"Shane did a nice job," said Bandits manager George Hoffman.
