Firebirds Roll to 9-3 Win Over Hitmen
|
The Phoenix Firebirds defeated the Washington Hitmen, 9-3, in Federal League action at Chase Field. Phoenix pitcher Ranger Suarez had a standout performance. By defeating Washington, the 4th-place Firebirds improved to 19-21.
In the bottom of the sixth, Phoenix shortstop Daniel Schneemann had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Schneemann stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-1, Phoenix. For the game, he went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Firebirds manager Pat McGoldrick.
