Skubal Schools Chicago in 3-0 Carolina Triumph
|
In a low-scoring game between the Carolina Riptides and the Chicago Explorers, pitcher Tarik Skubal was masterful on the mound. The Carolina left-hander spearheaded his team's 3-0 win. With the win, Carolina pushed its record to 22-19.
Skubal earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Carolina. The native of Kingman, Arizona, allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 13. Chicago hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.
Said losing manager Rock Carpenter: "These are the grinding hard days that all good teams go through, and this is when we've got to stick together and believe in one another."
