Diamonds Slap 6-3 Loss on Seattle
|
The Anaheim Diamonds topped the Seattle Sting by a score of 6-3. Leading the way was shortstop Josh Smith. Smith went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times for the Diamonds. Ryan Yarbrough earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-2. Getting the save was Connor Phillips, his 2nd.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Willi Castro? The Anaheim third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Diamonds on top, 4-2. For the game, Castro had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Smith.
Today's win puts Anaheim at 18-23, while Seattle falls to 22-19.
