Varsho Homers Twice in 5-2 Sting Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Anaheim Diamonds and Seattle Sting get after it.
The Seattle Sting stymied the Anaheim Diamonds, 5-2, at Boeing Field. Daulton Varsho had a good day at the plate. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Seattle. Eury Perez picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 5-2. Josh Hader sewed up the save, his 6th.
Early in the game, Varsho had a 2-run home run for Seattle. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Sting on top, 2-0.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Varsho told the Seattle Today, "and we played pretty well tonight."
By defeating Anaheim, the second-place Sting improved to 23-19.
