Shota Imanaga pitched well, but the Chicago Explorers still fell short, losing, 3-0, to the Carolina Riptides at IBM Field. The win went to Daysbel Hernandez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Shota Imanaga took the loss. Carolina has now won 5 straight.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Riptides had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when third baseman Ryan McMahon hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Shota Imanaga and made the score 1-0, Riptides. McMahon went 1-3.

"I like our mindset right now," said Carolina manager Rob Hansen.
