Sluggers Beaten by Hitmen, 5-3
|
The Washington Hitmen grabbed a win, 5-3, over the St Louis Sluggers at RFK Stadium. Washington designated hitter Spencer Torkelson was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. The win went to Matt Foster in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jacob Lopez took the loss. Robert Suarez finished the game for Washington and earned his 1st save.
The Hitmen got a big at-bat from right fielder Tyler O'Neill. For the game, O'Neill went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Washington a 5-3 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Torkelson.
Washington is now 20-24, St Louis 22-22.
