The Phoenix Firebirds and Los Angeles Spirit provided some drama for the home crowd.

Los Angeles Spirit starter Zac Gallen pitched well against the Phoenix Firebirds at Chase Field, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Gallen got the win, improving to 6-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. He allowed 3 runs.

Los Angeles used a clutch at-bat from Jorbit Vivas to capture the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Spirit ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
