The Carolina Riptides picked up a win at IBM Field, knocking off the Montreal PoorBoys, 2-1. Starting pitcher Tarik Skubal was a big reason why. Peter Fairbanks was credited with the save for Carolina, his 9th of the season. The winning streak has now reached 9 games for the Riptides.

Skubal tossed 114 pitches over 8 innings to clinch the win for the Riptides. The left-hander allowed just 2 hits, while racking up 14 strikeouts in the game.

"When I go out there," said Skubal, "the last thing I want to do is let my teammates down."
