Pittsburgh Beats Seattle, 5-0
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
Pittsburgh used a superb performance from starting pitcher Hunter Greene to down the Seattle Sting, 5-0. With the win, Pittsburgh upped its record to 25-21.
Coby Mayo had a big 3-run home run for the Ironmen in the bottom of the second inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a sinker from Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is tied for 7th in the UL in innings pitched with 58.2, and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Ironmen on top, 4-0.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Greene.
