Smashing Success: Devers Wallops 3 HR Wednesday, May 27th , 2026 Toronto Hogs third baseman Rafael Devers sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Montreal PoorBoys, Devers told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Devers pushed the Hogs past the PoorBoys, 9-3. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Devers told reporters after the game. Rafael Devers hit a two-run home run off Joe Musgrove in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Joe Musgrove in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Joe Musgrove in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This year, Devers has hit 8 home runs and posted a .282 batting average. |
