Setback for Dragons and Louie Varland
Thursday, May 28th , 2026
Louie Varland is hurting again, just a few days into his treatment for a ruptured finger tendon. Apparently the injury worsened, so the Dragons sent the 28-year-old starting pitcher back to the doctors for reexamination. Varland told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Varland will now miss a minimum of 4 months.
Louie Varland is expected to undergo surgery in San Francisco(California) tomorrow.
