Bad News for Texas, Harper Injured Friday, July 31st , 2026 Bryce Harper of the Texas Vipers was injured in today's game against Portland and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a severely strained hip muscle, and he is expected to be out for up to 6-7 weeks. It happened while Harper was running the bases. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field." This season, Harper has banged out 114 hits in 403 at-bats for a .283 average with 24 home runs.
