Big Day with Bat: Kim 5-for-5
Thursday, May 21st , 2026
Hyun Soo Kim put on a hitting clinic as the Oklahoma City Outlaws dumped the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Red Barons, 8-6, at Red Barons Ballpark.
The Oklahoma City left fielder made Wilkes-Barre Scranton defenders earn their pay, lashing Wilkes-Barre Scranton pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Kim said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Hyun Soo Kim singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
Kim is hitting .325 this year with 8 home runs, 30 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 39 hits in 120 at-bats, 13 walks and a .396 on-base percentage. Kim has played in 34 games.
