CJ Kayfus put on a hitting clinic as the Portland Blaze dumped the Vancouver Canadians, 22-3, at Field of the Blaze.

The Portland first baseman made Vancouver defenders earn their pay, lashing Vancouver pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Kayfus said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

CJ Kayfus walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Joe Vetrano in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Cooper Hjerpe in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
