Roswell UFO catcher Antonio Gomez had a day to remember at San Jose Grounds, ripping apart the San Jose Thorns and sparking the 19-17 UFO win.

Gomez wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-7.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Gomez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."

Antonio Gomez hit a two-run home run off Dalton Rogers in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
