Lee Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games

Hao-Yu Lee of the Madison Millers extended his hitting streak to 20 straight games with 1 hit in today's 25-5 triumph over the Dayton Dragons at Millers Ballpark.
"Hao-Yu has been making it easy for me to pencil his name in the lineup every day," Millers manager joked after the game.
Hao-Yu Lee singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, struck out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, grounded out in the 7th and walked in a run in the 8th.
Lee is currently batting .337 with 25 home runs, 102 RBIs and 111 runs scored. He has 171 hits in 507 at-bats.

Harry Rips Dayton for 5 Hits

A jubilant Jay Harry joined the postgame press conference at Millers Ballpark to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Dayton Dragons pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Madison Millers shortstop, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 25-5 Millers win.
"He made it look easy," said , manager of the Dragons. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Jay Harry struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Nabil Crismatt in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Looking at his present stats, Harry has compiled a .333 batting average in 6 games with a .467 on-base percentage, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 7 runs.

Murray Chosen August's Best EL Hurler

Most of the time the starting pitchers get the glory, but not this month. A reliever, Jayden Murray, has been named the Pitcher of the Month in the Eastern League.
In August, the Reading bullpen ace starred with 7 saves in 10 relief appearances, logging 11.2 innings, 12 strikeouts, 4 walks and a 0.77 ERA. Murray finished the month with 2 wins and no losses -- and captured the trophy as the league's number one pitcher.
Looking at his season stats to date, Murray has 16 saves in 43 relief appearances with a 7-4 mark and 4.27 ERA.
