Bad News for Reading, Chris Sharpe Hurt Monday, May 25th , 2026 Chris Sharpe of the Roughnecks just might have to call it quits for the season. The 29-year-old Reading left fielder received a possible season-ending injury against the Trenton Thunder recently at Ballpark of Trenton. Sharpe suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament while running the bases. The Roughnecks medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 7-8 months. This season, Sharpe is swinging the bat at a .239 rate with 33 hits in 138 at-bats. To date he has hit 6 home runs, scored 20 runs and driven in 21. |
