Jacob Amaya was smoking all game at the plate, but couldn't finish his day with a victory cigar.

Tornadoes End Rucker Streak
Monday, May 25th , 2026
It was a doubly miserable day for Jake Rucker of the Havana Conquistadors, as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 22-6, to the Moore Tornadoes at Jazz Ballpark. The 26-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Tornadoes.
"Anyone on a 20-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Moore manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
Thus far this year, Rucker has hit .373 with 6 home runs and 30 RBIs.

Conquistadors Pitching Ravaged by Rodriguez
Monday, May 25th , 2026
Moore Tornadoes left fielder Hector Rodriguez had a day to remember at Jazz Ballpark, ripping apart the Havana Conquistadors and sparking the 22-6 Tornadoes win.
Rodriguez wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Rodriguez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Hector Rodriguez singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Noah Davis in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 6th.
Rodriguez on the season is batting .343 with 9 home runs. His totals include 44 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has played in 40 games.
