Adon Acclaimed Top Pitcher in August

In August, the top pitcher in the Southern League was a reliever, thanks to some sensational numbers Joan Adon put up coming out of the bullpen.
The Shreveport relief specialist made no relief appearances, picking up no saves and 28 strikeouts in 33 innings, and posted a 4-2 mark and a 2.45 ERA.
For the season, Adon has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves, compiled a 12-5 won-lost mark and a 2.88 ERA. In pitching 153.1 innings, he has totaled 139 strikeouts and 63 walks.

SL Announces Outstanding Batter Award

Snap, crackle and pop! In August, Kyle McCann snapped up the Southern League Batter of the Month trophy by cracking 37 hits and popping 11 home runs.
For the month he hit a solid .398 with 34 RBIs and 20 runs scored. The Birmingham catcher also picked up 8 walks to compile a .446 on-base percentage.
McCann is hitting .350 so far this season with 88 RBIs and 68 runs scored. He has 105 hits including 28 home runs, 42 walks and .431 OBP.
