Saltiban Powers 3 HR Against Winston-Salem

Devin Saltiban added his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against the Winston-Salem Smokers. But despite joining the select list of sluggers to hit three home runs in a game, it didn't guarantee a victory. The Alexandria Dukes fell to the Smokers, 15-11.
In his big day at Dukes Ballpark, the Alexandria shortstop went 4-for-5 with 4 RBIs and scored 4 times.
"It was just one of those days," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball. "You would think three homers would win most games. It was good to hit 'em, but a win would have really made my day."
Devin Saltiban singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ryan Gallagher in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nicholas Judice in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Luis Vargas in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
Saltiban is swinging at a .204 pace on the year with 7 home runs, 20 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has played in 35 games.

Hightower Batters Wilmington Big Time

Brunswick shortstop Cobb Hightower had a day to remember, 5-for-6 against the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Ballpark of Wilmington as the Pilots picked up a win, 16-5.
"He was patient up there," Brunswick skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Hightower has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
Cobb Hightower hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Griffin Kilander in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season, Hightower has hit at a .372 clip with 23 RBIs, 7 home runs and 20 runs scored. He has played in 39 games.

Buccaneers Rafael Montero to Miss Year

When Rafael Montero was hurt against the Prince William Panthers, the Kingston Buccaneers were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 35-year-old closer suffered shoulder inflammation throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Montero would miss 4-5 months of the season.
In the 2026 season Montero has worked 11.1 innings in 13 relief appearances and earned 4 saves. He has dished out 8 strikeouts and walked 10 with a 0-2 mark and a 7.15 ERA.
