Catfish Perez Gone for Year Friday, May 22nd , 2026 Francisco Perez of the Catfish just might have to call it quits for the season. The 28-year-old Lakeland reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Vero Beach Blue Angels recently at Catfish Ballpark. Perez suffered a torn labrum while throwing a pitch. The Catfish medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 8 months. Perez has taken the mound for 13 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 1-0 record with a 3.04 ERA. The Lakeland reliever has limited opposing batters to a .247 batting average. |
