Diaz Sizzles -- Smokes Sluggers for 5 Hits Tuesday, May 26th , 2026 5 times is the charm -- at least for Eduardo Diaz. The South Bend Fighting Irish left fielder tore up the Springfield Sluggers to the tune of 5 hits in 7 at-bats at Fighting Irish Ballpark. The offensive onslaught from Diaz powered the 19-3 Fighting Irish win. "Diaz was a tough out," Springfield manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Eduardo Diaz singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jorge Juan in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Thus far this season, Diaz is hitting .378 with 8 home runs, 31 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 127 at-bats and has played in 33 games. View Boxscore |
