No Late-Season Magic Coming: Twin Falls Out of Playoffs

Albert Suarez didn't hide his feelings when asked by reporters how he felt to know his Twin Falls Coyotes are now officially out of postseason contention.
"It's one of the worst feelings you can have as a baseball player," he said.
The Coyotes have missed the playoffs 13 times in their 14 years as a Pioneer League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 13th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2013.

Postseason Bid Ends for Missoula

It wasn't meant to be for the Missoula Toros this year. Despite a tough battle, they were eliminated from playoff contention today.
"It is a bad feeling," said Toros starting pitcher Connor Van Scoyoc. "Once you get into the playoffs, anything can happen. But you've gotta get in there first, and we weren't able to do that."
Before this season, the Toros last missed the playoffs in 2024. In the 14 years they have been a Pioneer League franchise, they have made the playoffs 8 times. Missoula last won the Round 2 in 2014.

Marte Earns Pio Top Pitcher Trophy

Banff's Sabier Marte hated to see August end. It was one of the single greatest months the reliever has posted, and the 22-year-old reliever did so well that he garnered enough votes for the Pioneer League Pitcher of the Month trophy.
Marte held the opposition to a .168 batting average in no relief appearances. He worked 29 innings, collected no saves, sat down 42 on strikes and posted a 4-0 record and a 2.17 ERA.
Thus far this season, Marte has saved 0 games. His won-lost mark is 7 wins and 1 loss with 78 strikeouts in 60.1 innings, along with a 3.43 ERA.
